Happy Sunday. It sure is happy because I had a lovely dinner with some amazing friends who made me laugh til I cried, and the Indian food ohhhh the Indian food (that’s for another day… Indian food I love, my internal plumbing is very anti tandoori and butter chicken!!!)
So my eye, my darn eye!!!
Well the long story short… I went in for a physical at my GP who looked in my eye and saw a spot of something that looked like blood and promptly sent me to the emergency room at the general where they told me they see the same thing but can’t do anything so to come back to the eye institute tomorrow where they (the eye institute) told me they don’t see what they (the GP and emerg doctor) see and I just have “condensation” on my eye – don’t worry it should go away and if it doesn’t or it gets worse come back. whew.
Well, last week I go to see the GP and he has the poor you face on. I ask, why are you looking at me like that? He says well the letter from the eye institute, hopes I’m ok, it’s not so bad blah blah blah. The letter???
It seems like the eye institute FORGOT to tell me that I had posterior vitreous detachment before I left the office. What the heck is that you ask? Click here for more info . It seems that this can very well lead to retinal detachment… yeah, and they let me walk out without a follow up appointment. BUT the letter clearly indicates that I must come back in 4-6 weeks to follow up. This appointment is so important that when I called to book the appointment, the receptionist was quite bothered that I would be away for week 5 and 6 and they didn’t have anything free in week 4. “You really need to come see us as SOON as you come back!!!” But ya let me leave without an appointment telling me don’t worry, you have condensation on the eye… Oh yeah did I mention, they didn't send the letter to me?!?!?! GRRRRRRR
On Friday, the other eye started up… Eye just don’t understand.
